Looking for a deceptively naughty Christmas treat this year? Try the classic Australian dessert, White Christmas, but with a modern twist! Rich salted caramel chocolate, raw macadamias, dried strawberries, shredded coconut, choc chips and crunchy rice puffs make up this dairy-free, gluten-free no bake dessert.
What do you do when you come home from the store with what you think are the ingredients for White Christmas only to find you accidentally bought salted caramel chocolate instead of white chocolate? Make up a new recipe!
Traditionally, White Christmas is a mixture of white chocolate, dried fruits, desiccated coconut, milk powder, icing sugar, rice puffs and coconut oil. It is super easy to make so it can be a fun project to do with kids or is great if you need something to take to a party in short notice.
It's also fun to mix it up and try variations using ingredients such as nuts, candy canes, cookies or whatever takes your fancy. So get creative and make this recipe your own. I'd also love to try making these in mini cupcake tins instead of one big slice. They would set into ready-made cute little individual Salted Christmas bites.
What are you making this Christmas? Have you ever come home with the wrong ingredients for a recipe? What did you do?
