Raw vegan brownies are one of my go-to recipes when I want something sweet. They're quick and easy to make and they look alright too, especially when cut into cute shapes.
This weekend I went to a local patisserie to pick up a tray of sweets to take to a friends house. The lady that worked there was so unbelievably rude I ended up walking out empty-handed.
I needed something to take to my friends house so decided to whip up something quickly at home. All of the ingredients for these brownies are pretty much staples in our house so brownies it was!
Ingredients
- 2 heaped cups of dates
- 1 heaped cup of almonds
- 1/4-1/2 cup of cacao powder (adjust depending on how chocolatey you want them)
- 1/2 cup of agave syrup
Recipe
1. Place all ingredients into your food processor and blitz until combined.
2. This is where you can yolo your recipe - taste the mixture. If you prefer it sweeter add more agave syrup. Needs more chocolate? Add more cacao powder. If the mixture is too moist add more almonds. You catch my drift.
3. Press entire mixture into a small brownie pan lined with baking paper.
4. Put in the fridge to set (at least 1 hour).
5. Once set cut into desired shape. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter for this batch.
Have fun trying different shapes or even try modifying the recipe using different nuts, adding flaxseed powder for a fibre boost etc.
These are best stored in the fridge.

That's terrible that that woman was so rude! But at least you made these yummy little hearts instead :)
