V-DUB VEGE Burger (Vegan option -remove aioli and cheddar) - $10.90
with a side of Kumara Fries + tomato sauce - $5.90
Burgerfuel, Newtown, is a small corner shop that can be found on what I like to call the vegan end of King Street.
The shop has a fast food atmosphere with a cleaner feel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of any dietary requirements.
I ran in last night with my roommate, BB, to grab dinner before watching State of Origin (don't even) across the road at The Marlborough Hotel. They kindly explained to us the vegan options and showed us how to use a Doofer when we looked at the cardboard burger holder like What even is that?
We chose to dine in and the food came out fast. The Kumara chips were tasty and had the right amount of crunch.
I like the V-DUB VEGE Burger because it has a veggie patty rather than a meat substitute patty (I don't like fake meat). It was quite filling and the flavour of the veggie patty was balanced well with the beetroot.
The only downside was there's no Gluten-Free option for the vegan burger and it's a little pricey for a fast food type burger.
Overall, it was pretty good and I'd probably go there again if I want to grab a quick bite to eat.
