Smoothie bowls are a trending topic with foodies at the moment. Once you try one it's easy to see why. They're full of health benefits and look amazing too!
This recipe is for an acai smoothie bowl. Acai is a superfood rich in antioxidants, fibre and omega 3 and 6. It gives the smoothie a beautiful, rich purple colour.
I'm so obsessed, I could make them for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Prep time: 5 minutes
Smoothie Ingredients:
- 1x 100g Frozen Acai smoothie pack
- 1/2 cup diced frozen mango
- Approx. 1 & 1/2 cups chocolate flavoured almond milk (the more milk you add the less thick it becomes)
- 1 teaspoon psyllium husks
Topping
- 1/2 sliced banana
- 1 handful of black chia seeds
- 1 handful of raw almonds
The topping is the best part about smoothie bowls! Get creative and try different topping such as fruit, nuts, seeds, granola, coconut etc.
Steps
1. Place all smoothie ingredients in a blender and mix until thick and creamy. I added more almond milk slowly until the consistency was just right.
2. Pour smoothie into a bowl and top with bananas, chia seeds and almonds or your choice of toppings.

ReplyDeleteSmoothie bowl, I hadn't heard of this! Though I have smoothies a lot ... usually almond-milk based. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
ReplyDeleteWe got some chia seeds for the first time yesterday! I'm really excited to try them, and will probably use them in a smoothie first. :-)
