I saw this 'Yarn Along' on Small Things blog and had to get involved! Crocheting and reading are two of my favourite things to do and I love taking photos so I couldn't pass this fun little project up.
At the moment I'm crocheting tonnes of roses, all different colours. They are becoming quite popular in my Etsy store and if I do end up having a stall in some local craft fairs I'll need a lot more stock! In the picture above you can see a bundle of rose stems, making these is what I spent most of today doing. Next will be crocheting the roses, then crocheting calyx's and finally sewing them all together.
The book I'm reading at the moment is Ginger Roger's self written autobiography, it has some interesting points in it however I find some of her 'memories' a little hard to believe. For example, in the first part of the book she writes about when she was 1 year old and was kidnapped by her Father, she says "I remember it as clearly as if it happened yesterday. I was chewing on a pretzel, and when I saw Mother, I began calling, "Mackey! Mackey".
Seriously. Who remembers when they were 1 year old..?
Anywho, once I'm finished with that book I'll move on to 'Change of Heart' by Jodi Picoult. I'm not sure what it's about, anyone read it? M's Mom gave it to me a few weeks ago, she loves Jodi Picoult.
If you would like to join in on the Yarn Along take a photo of what you are currently knitting/crocheting and reading, use the button below or go to Small Things blog to find different colours and share the love.
A pinch and a punch for the first day of the month

The yarn along sounds like fun. I am the slowest knitter in the world, so could never keep up.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy shared team efforts towards one's craft and this looks like fun! Hello from the Etsy Blog Team!
ReplyDeleteThe Yarn Along sounds fun, but I am currently knitting squares for the KasCare Foundation's project for blankets for African orphans. It's all I can do to keep up with that. And as for the 1-year-old memory, I personally don't remember anything before I was four!
ReplyDeleteJodi Picoult- I've read one of her books and it was a good page turner - it's one of those books that you end up reading too late because you just NEED to know what happens next.
ReplyDeleteWould love to see your finishing crochet!!!
ReplyDeletePlease show us the pics next time :D
