Vegan's Paradise on a gluten-free base(+$4), $21.00
For traditional Lebanese pizzas, wraps, salads and dessert look no further than Sydney's most popular takeaway and delivery diner, Manoosh Pizzeria.
Manoosh Pizzeria is the Inner West's most popular takeaway and delivery pizza joint for vegans and meat eaters alike. Situated on Enmore Road the Lebanese pizzeria serves up fresh Lebanese pizza, wraps, salad and desserts..or as they like to call it a "feast from the Middle East"
A small number of tables are available for casual dining but takeaway is where it's at. Just be sure to double check your order on delivery because the delivery can be a little hit or miss (forgetting dishes or bringing something else entirely). The service is friendly enough though and they are always willing to make amends. I guess some mistakes are bound to happen when you become that popular.
Vegans will be happy to find so much variety in the one pizzeria. Manoosh's vegan offerings include:
- Zaatar (plain, with veggies or with falafel)
- Spinach Pie
- Pumpkin Kebbeh
- Vegan Garlic Bread
- Vegan's Paradise Pizza
- Healthy Vegan Wrap
- Falafel Wrap
- Garden or Tabbouleh Salad
- Halawa
- Peanut Butter Fudge SV
As the name suggests, Manoosh serves up the area's best Manoosh (a traditional Lebanese pizza topped with olive oil and zaatar). Grab a classic Manoosh or fill it with veggies or falafel.
If you can only try one thing from Manoosh you can't go wrong with the Vegan's Paradise pizza (pictured above) which has the most toppings I have seen on a vegan pizza from any Sydney pizzeria. Topped with spinach, mushroom, capsicum, tomato, olives, onion, garlic and oregano drizzled with tahini sauce with either a zaatar or tomato base. It's a nice change from the usual stingy vegan pizza toppings from other Sydney pizza joints. The base was surprisingly soft for a gluten-free base, the toppings were fresh and plentiful and the tahini sauce was creamy and moorish.
My housemate Darley and I weren't sure if it was because of the gluten-free base that this Garlic Bread was rock hard. After chewing through one slice it was almost impossible to chew any more. The garlic sauce and oregano topping was rich and tasty though so it may be better on a regular base.
Pumpkin Kebbe, $8.00-$15.00

Pumpkin Kebbeh are small pumpkin and burghul football shaped parcels filled with chickpeas, spinach and onion and they are delicious, especially covered in Manoosh's famous garlic sauce. Some even say Manoosh's garlic sauce is greater than El Jannah's and that is saying something.

Falafel Wrap SV, $6.50
Besides traditional Lebanese Pizza Manoosh specialises in fresh, filling and delicious wraps including two vegan wraps - the Healthy Vegan and the Falafel Wrap.

Peanut Butter Fudge SV, $7.50
Peanut butter, banana and melted chocolate enclosed in puff pastry. I didn't find any bananas in my Peanut Butter Fudge SV but the combo of peanut butter and chocolate always works and the homemade puff pastry was warm, soft and tasty.
Even after a couple of delivery mishaps I would still rate Manoosh as one of the best takeaway and delivery diners in the area. Everything is fresh, filling and delicious and that Vegan's Paradise pizza! Mmm!
