A couple of weeks ago Australian Prime Minister(now former PM) Julia Gillard caused a fuss when she posed for the July issue of Australian Women's Weekly magazine surrounded by her knitting needles and balls of yarn. Whilst I'm not a fan of this PR stunt I would like to see more knitters, crocheters, DIYers and crafters in the public eye. Because crafting isn't just for grannies!

ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of knitting myself, I've tried a few times but I cannot seem to gather enough patience to finish something. Whilst my jewelry creation requires equal patience, it's probably to do with passion for it. I do however value my sister's knitted winter socks and scarves.... they make such unique gifts.
